The Ministry of Transportation Ontario tendered a design-build project to replace crumbling infrastructure that had performed to its service life. In particular, this structure in question belonged to Highway 11 which represents one of the most important provincial arteries utilized as a shipping route as well as to interconnect communities across Northern Ontario.
The Duchesnay Creek bridge replacement project, located in North Bay, ON was constructed in 2016. Miller Northern Paving chose Reinforced Earth Company’s TechSpan precast concrete arch as the preferred solution. The 14.6m span x 4.5m high precast concrete elements were installed for a length of 18.75m, in approximately 11 hours.
