|Roads, motorways and railways
are often built along the coast just above the maximum high tide level.
When the coast is so narrow that work has to encroach on the sea in order
to build new structures or widen existing communication links, retaining
structures are required. The Reinforced Earth® technology is perfectly
adapted to such applications. |

Reinforced Earth® marine structures have generally been built under dry conditions or during low tides. Experience has shown that structures in sheltered sites or harbors can be submerged during the initial stages of wall construction without any damage to the final build. The use of large Z-shaped panels ensures fast construction by lending additional protection against inclement weather and extreme tidal fluctuations.
